The Helping Hand Foundation (HHF), in collaboration with a local community welfare group, has launched a special fever clinic in the heart of urban settlements of B.T. Nagar, M.G. Nagar and Hakeempet Kunta that are facing waterborne and vector-borne illnesses.

The clinic, which operates between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. for three to four days a week, is staffed by a doctor, a nurse and a pharmacist. Free dengue tests and complete blood profiles (CBP) are being offered, while complicated cases are referred to the Area Hospital Golconda or higher centres, depending on the severity.

“Within its first week, the clinic received more than 300 patients, most of them suffering from viral fevers, cough, cold and body pains. Residents who once spent as much as ₹1,200 to ₹1,500 per doctor’s visit are now able to access treatment at their doorstep without financial strain,” said Mujtaba Hasan Askari of HHF.

The organisation also plans to replicate the model in other vulnerable pockets of the city, including Ganganagar and Amanagar in Yakutpura. The expanded health delivery model will combine fever clinics with community outreach by local volunteers and referrals to government hospitals for sustained care.
