The Kalaburagi district administration has urged farmers to make full use of the procurement centres set up across the district to sell their produce under the government’s Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme for the 2025-26 season.
Announcing the schedule and details of the MSP procurement drive, Deputy Commissioner Fouzia Taranum and Joint Director of Agriculture Samad Patel said that the government issued orders for the procurement of green gram, black gram and sunflower on September 25 and for soybean on September 29.
The administration has fixed the MSP for green gram at ₹8,768 per quintal, with a maximum limit of three quintals per acre and 15 quintals per farmer.
Black gram will be procured at ₹7,800 per quintal, with a ceiling of five quintals per acre and 30 quintals per farmer. Sunflower will fetch ₹7,721 per quintal, with a limit of four quintals per acre and 20 quintals per farmer, while soybean will be purchased at ₹5,328 per quintal, with a limit of five quintals per acre and 20 quintals per farmer.
For implementing the scheme, the Karnataka State Pulses Development Board, Kalaburagi, has been designated to procure green gram, the Karnataka State Cooperative Marketing Federation, Kalaburagi, will handle black gram and soybean procurement and the Karnataka Cooperative Oilseed Growers Federation Ltd. will oversee sunflower procurement.
In all, 67 primary agricultural cooperative societies and other designated agencies, including 59 centres handling green gram and black gram procurement and 47 centres handling sunflower and soybean, will facilitate the process.
NAFED has been appointed as the State-level procurement agency.
Farmers are required to register their produce at the respective centres, where biometric verification will be mandatory for all transactions.
Registration for green gram, black gram and sunflower will remain open until December 13 and procurement will continue until December 23.
For soybean, registration will be accepted until December 17 and procurement will continue until December 27.
Payments will be made directly to farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) portal.
