Farmer struck dead by lightning in Uppada

A 55-year-old farmer died on Sunday after he was struck by lightning in his paddy field at Paatha Isukapalli village of U. Kothapalli mandal in Kakinada district. When the incident happened, the deceased, Nooka Raju was engaged in inspecting his paddy field.

The Uppada Kothapalli police recovered the body from the field and sent it to Kakinada Government General Hospital for post-mortem.

Expressing grief over the incident, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan inquired about the incident and directed Kakinada district officials to initiate ex gratia to the members of the deceased’s family. Mr. Kalyan inquired about the incident and the farmer’s family over the phone.
