Most exit polls on Wednesday (April 29, 2026) predicted a tight race in West Bengal, a clear majority for the BJP-led NDA in Assam and Puducherry, the DMK-led coalition leading in Tamil Nadu, and the United Democratic Front (UDF) ahead in Kerala. Axis My India projected a huge surge for actor-turned-politician Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).

Hours after the 2nd phase polls concluded in West Bengal, most pollsters showed the BJP ahead or in a close contest. PMARQ gave 118-138 seats to the TMC-led alliance and 150-175 to the BJP, while Matrize figures showed 125-140 seats for TMC+, and 146-161 for BJP. JVC projected 131-152 seats for TMC+ and 138-159 for BJP, besides two for the Congress.
