Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan on Tuesday (December 30, 2025) reminded the elected representatives that the public will give a befitting reply to anti-people measures by exercising their electoral rights, as seen in the defeat of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in the local body polls.

Those who got elected should never forget that they are duty-bound to the people as they are watching our actions, he said in his inaugural address at the reception to the newly-elected representatives to various local bodies organised by the Ernakulam District Congress Committee (DCC) at the Ernakualm Town hall.

He said that the defeat suffered by the Left front should remain as a lesson for everyone. The victory for the United Democratic Front must help us to work hard to come out with flying colours in the forthcoming Assembly elections, he was quoted as saying in a release issued here.

DCC president Mohammed Shiyas attributed the impressive win in the local body polls to the efforts put up by the party workers. MPs Hibi Eden, Jebi Mather, MLAs K. Babu, Roji M. John, Uma Thomas, and Eldhose Kunnappilly attended.
