The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Tamil actors Srikanth and Krishna for questioning regarding a cocaine peddling case in which they were arrested by the Greater Chennai City Police earlier this year.

The Nungambakkam police had initially begun an investigation into the case after two groups clashed at a bar in Nungambakkam in May 2025. Eight persons, including Prasad, who was an AIADMK functionary, were arrested. The police later found alleged links between Prasad and a drug cartel whose members included Prado alias Pradeep and his associates, among them a Ghanaian national named John, who had been operating out of Bengaluru.

The police said Prasad had been procuring cocaine from the cartel for the past three years and selling it to his friends, including actor Srikanth. Prasad and Srikanth were arrested by the Nungambakkam police on June 23, following which actor Krishna and Jaswir alias Kevin, a drug supplier, were arrested on June 26.

The police added that more than 25 persons had been arrested in connection with the cocaine case and that they had also unearthed transactions involving foreign nationals. The money-laundering case arose from the FIR filed by the Nungambakkam police.

Sources added that actors Srikanth and Krishna will have to appear before the officers of the ED on Monday (October 27, 2025) and Tuesday (October 28).
