A senior delegation of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has commenced a five‑day technical assistance programme in Mauritius aimed at strengthening the island nation’s capacity to fight financial crime.
The team of four senior ED officials will impart training to officers of the Mauritius Financial Crime Commission (FCC) from September 22 to 26.
The training programme is being organised in Port Louis under a Memorandum of Understanding signed in March 2025 between the ED and the Mauritian FCC to intensify bilateral cooperation against financial crimes.
The course addresses the issues highlighted in Mauritius’s second National Risk Assessment in 2025, which flagged major risks in anti‑money laundering efforts, and identified “high‑risk theatres”. The course is also designed for capacity building in newly inducted investigators.
The programme includes practical workshops on money laundering investigations, financial intelligence, asset recovery, international cooperation and cybercrime.
The programme signals India’s ongoing effort to strengthen global partnerships in line with the Financial Action Task Force standards, and paves the way for expanded cooperation in investigations, technical support, and intelligence sharing between the ED and the FCC, according to the Central agency.
