EC Director Shubhra Saxena assessed the status of Enumeration Form distribution, elector verification and other activities during a meeting held at the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer in Gangtok.

Emphasising the importance of maintaining accurate and inclusive electoral rolls, she directed officials to ensure that all eligible voters are covered during the revision exercise.

Ms. Saxena, who is on a visit to the state till June 4, stressed that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) must actively assist electors in filling up Enumeration Forms and uploading the required information through the ECINET portal.

The review meeting also discussed the verification and mapping of electors whose records may not be readily traceable in earlier electoral rolls.

Officials were advised to adopt appropriate verification procedures and make effective use of available records to ensure accurate identification and enrolment of eligible electors, the statement said.

Ms. Saxena underscored the need for meticulous field-level verification and strict adherence to timelines prescribed by the EC for the successful completion of the SIR.

The meeting was attended by CEO Raj Kumar Yadav, District Election Officers and Booth Level Officers.

The enumeration phase of the exercise commenced on Saturday (May 30, 2026) and will continue till June 28.
