Minister for Health, Medical and Family Welfare Satya Kumar Yadav was praised in the Assembly on Friday for his detailed and well-prepared responses during the Question Hour.
Presiding over the House, Deputy Speaker Kanumuru Raghurama Krishnam Raju lauded the Minister for his thorough “homework” and clarity, particularly while replying to questions on the development of the Government General Hospital in Anantapur.
Responding to queries raised by Anantapur Urban MLA Daggupati Venkateswara Prasad and Puttaparthi MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy, the Minister said the hospital, originally sanctioned for 560 beds, is now functioning with 1,348 beds, including 143 ICU ones. He said steps were under way to complete the remaining floors of the Mother and Child Health block and that a 50-bed Critical Care Block under the PM-ABHIM scheme would be completed within three months.
He also informed the House that pending dues for medicines had been cleared and hospital monitoring strengthened through a Facial Recognition System.
