Drive on to make Penuganchiprolu, Ibrahimpatnam model blocks in NTR district

Collective efforts are being made to transform Penuganchiprolu and Ibrahimpatnam mandals in NTR district into model blocks, said National Water Mission Director N. Ashok Babu.

Addressing the media at the MPDO Office in Penuganchiprolu on Wednesday (June 17, 2026), he said the Centre has declared more than 500 blocks across the country as aspirational blocks, and of these, 15 blocks are located in seven districts of Andhra Pradesh.

In NTR district, Ibrahimpatnam and Penuganchiprolu have been identified as aspirational blocks. Efforts are being made to achieve 100% pass percentage in Class X examinations, proper implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission, on health and nutrition-related indicators.

During his visit to a few villages in Penuganchiprolu, he noted that the mandal has performed well on 27 of 38 indicators, and that efforts are on to achieve targets in the remaining 11 indicators as well.

During his visit, he inspected the Zilla Parishad Girls’ High School in Penuganchiprolu, interacted with women from SHGs, reviewed the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission works and provided directions for their timely completion.

Later, he visited the Ayushman Arogya Mandir at Gummadidurru and inspected an Anganwadi at Thotacherla village. In Sanagapadu, he visited the GKPK Innovative Hub and enquired about the services being provided to farmers through modern technology.
