Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn is reprising the role of Vijay Salgaonkar in the third and final instalment of the Drishyam franchise. The actor has announced the official title of the third film as Drishyam: The Conclusion. The film is set to release in theatres on October 2, 2026. It is expected to reveal the final outcome of the story.
On August 24, Ajay Devgn released the first poster for Drishyam: The Conclusion and officially announced the final chapter of the franchise. The poster bears the text, ‘Mera sach, mera sahi sirf meri family hai.’ The line reflects Vijay Salgaonkar’s mindset.
When will the film be released?
The poster features an image of Ajay Devgn, showing only half of his face and one eye. While sharing the poster, Ajay Devgn wrote, ‘Har insaan ka nazariya alag hota hai… mere liye meri family hi sab kuch hai. Drishyam: The Conclusion in cinemas 2nd October.’
In the post, Ajay Devgn tagged actors including Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj and Abhishek.
Who is the director?
Drishyam: The Conclusion is being produced by Star Studios and Panorama Studios. Abhishek Pathak will direct the third film. He has also co-written the story alongside Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak are the producers of the film.
What is the story of the film?
The film tells the story of Vijay Salgaonkar, a mild-mannered family man from Goa. After a murder occurs in his home, he attempts to protect his family from the clutches of the law.
Ajay Devgn will return as Vijay Salgaonkar in the third instalment. Tabu will reprise her role as IG Meera Deshmukh, while Shriya Saran will return as Nandini. Rajat Kapoor will also make a comeback, while Prakash Raj and Jaideep Ahlawat have joined the cast in new roles.
Filming has concluded, and the movie is currently in post-production.
When were the first and second instalments released?
The Hindi Drishyam franchise began in 2015 with a remake of Mohanlal’s Malayalam thriller. The film quickly won over audiences and grossed approximately Rs 110 crore worldwide. Drishyam 2, released in 2022, took the franchise a step further and proved to be an even bigger hit, grossing around Rs 342 crore globally.
