The DMK will be with the people of Tamil Nadu to win their voting rights as the BJP is attempting to rob the democratic right through the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has said.
Speaking at the ‘Manithaneya Christmas Celebrations’ organised by Christian Goodwill Movement in Palayamkottai on Saturday, Mr. Stalin said the BJP, targeting the religious minorities, introduced the National Register of Citizens and the DMK opposed it vehemently while the AIADMK, which had mortgaged its ideologies for political reasons, had supported it.
The BJP had now pushed the Special Intensive Revision of electoral roll for snatching away the voting rights and hence the DMK had challenged it in the Supreme Court. Even as this case was pending in the apex court, the draft electoral roll had been published which had denied voting rights to over 97 lakh voters of Tamil Nadu.
“Please check the draft electoral roll to ensure your voting right. If your democratic right has been denied, the DMK functionaries will visit your houses, get the details and win back the right for you. The DMK will demolish the BJP’s sinister designs to smash your democratic rights,” Mr. Stalin said.
