Deputy Chief Minister urges officials to remain cautious during Assembly session

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka directed all senior officials to remain alert and ensure that information is provided to Ministers and Members in a transparent and timely manner during the entire sessions. He emphasised that both the Legislative Council and the Assembly are symbols of democracy, and it is the responsibility of the Chief Minister and Ministers to give satisfactory answers to questions raised by members.

In view of the ongoing legislative sessions, he also cautioned media outlets against publishing or broadcasting information related to the proceedings of both Houses without official verification, stating that such actions would amount to a breach of legislative privilege.

Addressing a meeting with senior officials at the First Conference Hall on the Assembly premises on Monday, the Deputy CM reiterated that the government is firmly committed to conducting the sessions in the most democratic manner.

He noted that Ministers attend the sessions after thorough preparation on their respective subjects and directed officials to provide complete information and remain available throughout the day in the Houses.

He further pointed out that live telecasts are watched not only by people across the State but also across the country. Just as the government demonstrates successful governance outside, it must also demonstrate its competence inside the House.

Meanwhile, Legislative Affairs Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu stated that the government aims to conduct both Houses in a manner that enhances the dignity and prestige of the legislatures and called for complete cooperation from officials to achieve this goal.

The Minister also directed that complete and accurate information should be prepared for questions raised during Zero Hour and that officials should be ready with full details regarding pending reports and assurances. He said that the Assembly and Council Secretaries would continuously coordinate with the Chief Secretary’s Office to identify priority and non-priority issues, and officials must respond promptly and appropriately.

Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, Council Secretary Narasimha Charyulu, Assembly Secretary Tirupati and senior officials attended the meeting.
