The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Tuesday (November 18, 2025) launched searches against Faridabad-based Al-Falah University, its trustees, and linked persons and entities, amid ongoing investigation into the Delhi car blast case.

Teams of the federal probe agency have been searching multiple locations in the Delhi-NCR since 5 a.m., an official told The Hindu.

It is understood that the ED s taking action under the anti-money laundering law following cognisance of the first information reports filed by the NIA and the Delhi Police in the case. The agency is investigating finances and purported terror financing links in the matter.

The Al-Falah university is located in the Dhouj area of Haryana’s Faridabad district and has been under the scanner in the recent case of the explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi which has claimed the lives of 14 people.

Till now, the NIA has arrested two persons, allegedly close aides of “suicide bomber” Dr Umar Nabi.

The Delhi Police has also summoned the chairman of Al-Falah University to record his statement on the functioning of the university and its links to people suspected of involvement in the attack. The chairman, Javed Ahmad, has been issued two summons to appear before the Delhi Police, a source told The Hindu.

Investigators, meanwhile, have continued to go through the records of the University and are conducting background checks of all those who have been associated with the University.

Delhi Police’s Crime Branch also lodged two separate FIRs against the university under charges of cheating and forgery following alleged irregularities flagged by the University Grants Commission and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

Last week, the Union government had ordered a forensic audit of all records of the Al-Falah University, where a number of suspects studied or worked. The E.D. and other financial investigative agencies have been asked to check the money trail of the private institution, sources told PTI after a high-level review of the situation chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

After the November 10 explosion, the University issued a statement distancing itself from those accused of being part of the ‘Faridabad terror module’.
