A case has been registered against a man in Koyilandy following the death of his minor son in a scooter accident. The deceased has been identified as Amal Praveen, 16, a resident of Iringath near Koyilandy.

The Koyilandy Police have registered a case against Praveen, the father of the victim, for allowing the minor to ride the two-wheeler registered in his name. They stated that despite repeated warnings against providing vehicles to underage individuals, certain parents have been found to commit such lapses.

The accident occurred around 9 p.m. on Tuesday (October 27) when Amal, who did not possess a valid driving licence, lost control of the scooter and crashed into a wall at Koyilandy. The incident took place while he was returning home from a gym with two of his friends.

Although Amal sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital immediately, his life could not be saved. His body was handed over to his relatives after completing the post-mortem examination.
