Following alleged anti-party activities during the bypoll to the Davanagere South Assembly seat, the Karnataka government has issued a notification removing Naseer Ahmed, MLC, from the post of Political Secretary to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Although the party high command is believed to have asked Mr. Ahmed to step down voluntarily, he declined to do so. Subsequently, on April 13, the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms issued an order relieving him of his responsibilities.
