Former MP D.K. Suresh said on Wednesday that his brother and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will occupy the Chief Minister’s chair if he is so destined.

“If it is written on his forehead, he will become the Chief Minister. Otherwise, he will not. Why should we bother about it? He will continue as the KPCC president as per the high command wish,” he said.

Only Rajyotsava

Mr. Suresh, who is also the chairman of the Bengaluru Milk Union (Bamul), downplayed the purported “November Revolution” in State politics, as predicted by the Opposition referring to possible leadership change, and said he remembers only Kannada Rajyotsava in November.

“Let us all celebrate this festival together. I don’t know about the other issues. This question should be asked to the party president, the Chief Minister, and the AICC leaders,” he said.

When asked about Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s decision to contest the 2028 elections, the Congress leader said leaders who were 95-98 years old have been contesting elections.

“There is nothing wrong with Mr. Siddaramaiah contesting the next Assembly polls. We will face the next election under his leadership,” he said.

When asked if the confusion over the leadership change was affecting the administration, he said, “I have no experience in governance. I had just served as the MP.”
