With the monsoon expected to put further pressure on Cyberabad’s roads, the police and civic agencies have decided to jointly tackle waterlogging, potholes, traffic bottlenecks and infrastructure-related problems affecting commuters.
A convergence meeting of various stakeholder departments was held at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate on Monday (August 10, 2026), where officials reviewed ongoing road improvement works, traffic management and monsoon preparedness across the commissionerate.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh; Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner Srijana; HMWS&SB Managing Director Ashok Reddy; TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Jitesh V. Patil and TGIIC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director K. Shashanka participated in the meeting along with traffic police and officials from other departments.
Issues identified
The CMC and Traffic Police officials jointly identified stretches requiring urgent repairs, particularly roads with badly damaged surfaces and potholes. Locations requiring new free-lefts or improvements to existing ones were also identified to enable smoother movement at busy junctions.

The officials also identified stretches where footpaths need to be developed or improved to make pedestrian movement safer.
The CMC Commissioner assured the police that the shortcomings identified during the joint exercise would be taken up on priority and rectification works completed at the earliest. She also called for closer coordination among agencies including HMWS&SB, TGSPDCL, HYDRAA, TGIIC, HGCL, Roads and Buildings, NHAI and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Mr. Ramesh asked all stakeholder departments to work closely with the Traffic Police to identify and resolve infrastructure-related issues affecting traffic flow. He stressed the need for time-bound action on free-lefts, pothole repairs, road widening, shifting of electrical poles and other utilities obstructing carriageways, and measures to prevent waterlogging. The Commissioner said field inspections and joint reviews should be conducted regularly, with priority given to locations witnessing frequent congestion, bottlenecks, accidents and public inconvenience.
He said resolving such infrastructure problems in a coordinated manner would improve road capacity, reduce travel delays and congestion, and enhance safety for motorists and pedestrians.
