The Thrissur Cyber Police have registered a case against Martin Antony, the second accused and a convict in the Kerala actor rape case, on the charge of posting a video on social media revealing the name of the survivor.

The video, believed to have been shot when he was out on bail, was shared on his Facebook page and began circulating widely on social media after the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court convicted the first six accused in the case earlier this month. The video not only mentions the survivor’s name but also levels serious allegations against the investigation team that probed the case.

CM petitioned

As the clip went viral, the survivor reportedly petitioned the Chief Minister, demanding action against those circulating it as it violated her privacy. Following the complaint, the Thrissur Cyber Police registered the case. Martin is currently serving his sentence in the Viyyur Central Jail in Thrissur.

Those found to have shared the video may also be arraigned as accused. The police have reportedly identified nearly 30 social media accounts linked to the circulation of the video. The accused may face charges, including those under the IT Act.
