Three officers of the Njarackal police station were suspended for allegedly assaulting two youths near the Puthuvype beach. The suspended officers are grade senior civil police officers (CPOs) Swarab, Sreekanth, and Mirage.
The suspension pending inquiry was initiated based on an internal investigation report submitted by the Munambam Deputy Superintendent of Police.
The investigation was initiated after the Mulavukad police registered a case against the officers following a complaint by the youths. The alleged incident happened on Thursday. The officers allegedly assaulted Neston, 31, and Nithin, 30, both from Puthuvype, after they reportedly flagged overspeeding by the officers.
