CPI(M) conveniently overlooking alliance it had with WPI, says Razak Paleri

Welfare Party of India (WPI) State president Razak Paleri criticised the CPI(M) and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, accusing them of attempting to label the party as communal while conveniently overlooking the alliance that existed between them until 2019.

Speaking at an election rally for United Democratic Front (UDF)-Janakeeya Munnani candidate Nasar Master in Ward 16 of Koottilangadi panchayat near here on Sunday (December 7), Mr. Paleri said that the Chief Minister and his party leaders appeared to have forgotten the Left Democratic Front (LDF)-Welfare Party alliance that remained in place until 2019.

Mr. Paleri accused the Chief Minister of launching a hate campaign intended to undermine communal harmony in the State, alleging that it was part of an effort to divert attention from growing anti-government sentiment and the Sabarimala gold theft case.

He said that Mr. Vijayan and other CPI(M) leaders were growing desperate in the face of the people’s anti-government sentiment during the ongoing civic body polls.
