A couple suffered severe burn injuries after allegedly being set on fire with an inflammable substance by the villagers following a relationship dispute at Mokhampura in Jaipur’s Dudu tehsil late on Friday (November 28, 2025) night. The man and the woman were admitted in a critical condition to Sawai Man Singh Government Hospital here.

The 36-year-old man alleged that the assailants were the woman’s relatives. The victims’ screams alerted the locals who extinguished the flames and informed the police. The incident was reportedly linked to a dispute between the two families.

Police detained two persons at Mokhampura on Saturday (November 29, 2025) after registering a first information report. The victims’ statements will be recorded after their condition stabilises, according to the police.

The couple was first taken to the Community Health Centre at Bichoon, from where they were referred to the burns ward of SMS Hospital here. Police said both had suffered 60% to 70% burn injuries. )
