An infant wrapped in a blanket was received at the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare’s Ammathottil electronic cradle at Thycaud here on Sunday night.

The five-day-old boy, who weighed around 3.25 kg, was given a preliminary examinations at the council and then taken to the Women and Children Hospital, Thycaud, for a detailed check-up and declared healthy.

The child was named Leo to denote courage and strength, council general secretary G.L. Arun Gopi said.

He is the third child to be received this month. Anyone claiming the child should contact the council at the earliest as his adoption procedures have to be initiated, Mr. Arun Gopi said.
