Media, social and consumer intelligence company Meltwater has expanded its Hyderabad AI hub with the setting up of a new 14,000 sq ft facility in the city. The facility houses a 60-member research and development team focused on developing next-generation AI capabilities and there are plans to scale the number to 150 engineers by 2026, said the company. Earlier this year, Meltwater had announced opening of the AI centre in Hyderabad with about 20 employees.

The expansion underscores its accelerated investment in AI innovation and reinforces Hyderabad’s position as a premier hub in India’s technology ecosystem, the company said in a release earlier this week.

In just nine months, the Hyderabad office has become integral to Meltwater’s global innovation work. The team here has developed critical AI capabilities redefining… Hyderabad’s robust academic ecosystem, vibrant AI community and support from industry networks have created an ideal environment for innovation at scale, Chief Technology Officer Aditya Jami said.
