Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy revealed that Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have been invited to the upcoming ‘Messi GOAT India Tour’ in Hyderabad on Saturday (December 13, 2025).

Speaking to the media on the Parliament premises in New Delhi before leaving for Hyderabad, the Chief Minister confirmed that the global football icon, Lionel Messi, will attend a special event organised by a private organisation.

“Football legend Messi is coming to Hyderabad and he is attending a programme organised by a reputed organisation. I have also been invited as Chief Minister, but the State government has no role in organising the event. Since a global sports legend is visiting, the Government is extending full support. I have invited everyone I met in Delhi to join the event,” he said.

As part of the programme, Messi, along with the Chief Minister and several international footballers, will participate in a special football match at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium in Uppal.

Meanwhile, All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra congratulated the Mr. Reddy on the unveiling of the ‘Telangana Rising Vision-2047′ document, calling it a forward-looking blueprint for the State’s long-term development.

In separate meetings held at their residences in New Delhi, the two senior Congress leaders commended the Chief Minister for presenting a comprehensive roadmap aimed at steering India’s youngest State towards inclusive growth, technological advancement and global competitiveness.

Mr. Reddy briefed Mr. Kharge and Ms. Priyanka Gandhi on the successful conduct of the two-day Telangana Rising Global Summit, where the Vision document was released in the presence of leading industrialists, global investors and business leaders. He highlighted the significant interest the Summit generated among international companies and the key agreements inked during the event.

The AICC leadership expressed its satisfaction over Telangana attracting substantial investments from both domestic and global firms, noting that the Summit underscored the State’s growing economic strength and investor-friendly policies.

The meeting was attended by Minister Vivek Venkataswamy and Members of Parliament Suresh Shetkar, M. Anil Kumar, P. Balaram Naik, Dr. Mallu Ravi, K. Raghuveer Reddy, and Gaddam Vamshi Krishna.
