Minister for Industries T.R.B. Rajaa on Thursday told the Assembly the State government would organise a conclave on February 12 to present the status and conversion of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed for investments attracted to the State.

Mr. Rajaa was responding to Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami who raised an issue over the State government’s claim that Tamil Nadu had attracted close to ₹10.72 lakh crore in investments to generate 31 lakh jobs. The AIADMK leader said if at least 75% of those investments had materialised, it would have generated 25 lakh jobs. He questioned whether such a number of jobs had actually been created and reiterated his demand for a White Paper on investments.

Mr. Rajaa said 526 of the 631 MoUs signed at the Global Investors Meet had been converted into investments, with the companies at various stages of construction and production.

The State government will organise a conversion conclave on investments, he said and invited Mr. Palaniswami to participate.
