For over two weeks now, MTC commuters at the Madhya Kailash junction have been waiting for buses on a small island without any shelter.

“It is so hot. Commuters wait near the labour institute compound or near a tree on the boomerang shaped island. A medium-sized tree at the spot was sawed off overnight and its stump remains next to the bus stand. You can see people standing on the road in the middle of traffic,” said Kavitha, who lives nearby.
