The Andhra Pradesh Power Coordination Committee (APPCC) has formed a six-member committee to examine the implementation of the government’s order to increase the retirement age of the public sector employees from 60 to 62 years in the power utilities.

A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the APPCC held through a video-conference on Wednesday, chaired by Special Chief Secretary (Energy)  K. Vijayanand.

The committee consists of G. Surya Sai Praveenchand, Joint Managing Director of AP Transco; P. Pulla Reddy, MD of AP Genco and CMD, CPDCL; CMDs of DISCOMs Siva Shankar Lotheti and Prithvi Tej Immadi, and legal adviser Siva Rao.

They were given the mandate to do a comprehensive study, covering the financial implications, working conditions of the employees, especially those doing field jobs, and other administrative matters, and submit a report within 15 days.
