Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) Commissioner P. Viswanatha instructed officials to take action against two sanitary secretaries for negligence in discharging their duties.

Mr. Viswanatha visited various residential colonies in Joharapuram area in the city on Tuesday to take stock of the sanitation conditions and supply of water to the locals. He found piled-up garbage and unhygienic conditions at several places and expressed dissatisfaction over the Sanitary Inspector for failing to take proper action.

The Commissioner expressed unhappiness over leakages in drinking water pipelines and said people were facing severe problems due to the negligence of officials. He also questioned them for failing to issue notices to vacant plot owners to clear their premises.

He said that there should not be any laxity in issues concerning public health, cleanliness and supply of safe drinking water and asked officials to identify the problems at the ground level and resolve them.

The Commissioner also visited the Munagalapadu summer storage tank, where 130 acre land was available for development of recreational activities.
