Professional colleges have issued yet another warning of closing down the colleges indefinitely from October 13 if the government doesn’t pay the fee reimbursement arrears as promised.
The Federation of Associations of Telangana Higher Education Institutions (FATHI) fixed the deadline as the government released only ₹200 crore out of ₹600 crore promised to be released before Dasara and another ₹600 crore before Diwali.
FATHI representatives N. Ramesh Babu, Krishna Rao, Ramdass said the college have not received fee reimbursement over the last four years putting enormous burden on the colleges and their future at stake. They reminded that they postponed their earlier indefinite closure from September 15 following talks with group of Ministers headed by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and officials.
They also said further talks will be held only with the Chief Minister’s Office as the CM Revanth Reddy holds the Education portfolio. The FATHI claimed that fee reimbursement arrears to the tune of ₹10,000 crore.
