District Collector S. Venkateshwar on Monday (September 29, 2025) issued orders revoking “22A ban” on the registration of properties at Auto Nagar area in Tirupati. The APIIC had developed 338 plots in an extent of 18.25 acres at Autonagar in 1997, of which 337 automobile units were sold. He mentioned that as of September 29, 2025, not a single plot remained vacant.

Mr. Venkateswar stated that since October 20, 2018, the Sub-Registrar of Tirupati had suspended registration of Auto Nagar properties citing that the land in Sy.No.74/7 of Akkarampalle village and sy no. 95/2 under Mangalam village was under the prohibited list of Section 22A. However, as many requests came up at revenue sadassulu, the same was examined and considered favourably.

The owners will now be able to legally register their properties, thereby ensuring protection from ownership-related disputes. This will also facilitate inheritance, availing loans, access to government schemes, and other related benefits, he said.

The revocation of the ban, the Collector informed, will directly benefit 337 automobile units, while 1,500 workers employed in the area will gain job security.
