The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cold wave alert in nine Telangana districts for Friday.

According to IMD’s latest bulletin, cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy districts.

Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, for the next 24 hours, will see mainly clear sky. “Fog and misty conditions are very likely to prevail during the morning hours. The minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 2°C to 3°C during the next two days. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 30°C and 13°C respectively,” the bulletin said.

Meanwhile, according to Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), between December 17 and 18, a total of 13 districts recorded temperatures below 10°C with Sirpur in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district recording the lowest temperature of 5.7°C.

This was followed by 6.4°C in Kohir (Sangareddy), 6.5°C in Moinabad (Rangareddy), 7.7°C in Bheempoor (Adilabad), 7.8°C in Nawabpet (Vikarabad), 8.1°C in Rayapole (Siddipet), 8.5°C in Yeldurthy (Medak), 8.6°C in Gandhari (Kamareddy), 8.9°C in Pembi (Nirmal), 9.1°C in Saloora (Nizamabad), 9.4°C in Uppal (Medchal Malkajgiri) and 9.8°C in Kosgi (Narayanpet) and Kalwakurthy (Nagarkurnool).

The remaining 10 districts recorded temperatures ranging between 10°C and 13°C. Marredpally in Hyderabad recorded a minimum temperature of 11°C.
