DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, on Monday (November 3, 2025), dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come to the State and make the same “divisive remarks” he had made against “Tamil Nadu” during his recent campaign in Bihar.

Mr. Modi had said “hardworking Biharis were being attacked in Tamil Nadu [Modi accused DMK cadre of harassing Bihar workers]. There have been no incidents of targeted violence against migrant workers in the State. This is the State of fraternity and brotherhood that nurtures those who come. Yet, Modi forgot he was the Prime Minister for all and spread falsehoods in Bihar. I dare him to come here and make the same speech here.”

Mr. Stalin said, “The BJP is desperate to get a foothold in Tamil Nadu and that desperation showed in Modi’s hate.” However, he believed, in 2026, DMK 2.0 will come to power “as my brother Thol. Thirumavalan (VCK leader) said”.

The DMK leader said the 2021 Assembly polls were meant to “rescue Tamil Nadu from the slavery of AIADMK,” and the 2026 elections were about the need to “rescue the State from the sinister alliance of AIADMK-BJP”.

Edappadi Palaniswami ‘double-faced’ about SIR: Stalin

Further, Mr. Stalin claimed that “fear of the BJP” stopped AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami from opposing the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He criticised the Leader of Opposition for skipping the multi-party meeting chaired by him to discuss about the SIR on Sunday.

The Chief Minister who is also the DMK president dubbed the AIADMK leader as “doubled-faced” about his stand on the SIR. He was speaking at the wedding of the son of A. Mani, the Member of Parliament for Dharmapuri.

“The party that calls itself ‘opposition’ did not attend the multi-party meeting, yesterday. However, Mr. Palaniswami has also recorded his objections to the ECI. I would like to thank him for that. Yet again, he has also issued a statement to his cadres to be present during SIR. What does it show? That he is suspicious of the Election Commission,” Mr. Stalin contended.

According to him, the AIADMK general secretary was so scared of the BJP that he is unable to directly oppose SIR. When the SIR was implemented in Bihar, it was he (Stalin) along with Tejaswi Yadav (RJD leader) and Rahul Gandhi (Congress leader) who opposed it from the start, said Mr.Stalin.

AIADMK shakes hands with right wing forces: Thirumavalavan

Mr. Thirumavalan, who also attended the wedding, called the upcoming polls an existential fight for the “State, its soil, its peoples” as much as it was historic.

The VCK leader called upon his cadres to work shoulder-to-shoulder with the DMK field workers to ensure Mr. Stalin retains the Chief Minister’s seat.

The AIADMK that had its genesis in Periyar’s (social reformer E.V. Ramasamy) workshop is shaking hands with the forces of the right wing that has maligned Periyar, and tries to annihilate Periyar’s politics from this soil, he charged. AIADMK’s betrayal is not just of Periyar, but also of their own patriarch MGR and even Jayalalithaa.

He stressed there was a need to rescue this State from backward forces, to aid an “Anna model, Periyar model, Dravidian model, Kalaignar model” government. “That is the reason for our continued sharing of the field with the DMK,” he said.
