Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy requested the Central Government to accord environmental and forest clearances for Palamuru-Rangareddy, Sitammasagar and Dindi projects at the earliest.

The Chief Minister wanted permissions to be given in accordance with the recent Supreme Court judgment. The State government has incurred ₹36,437 crore on Palamuru-Rangareddy, ₹1,835 crore on Sitammasagar, ₹3,187 crore on Dindi lift irrigation scheme and ₹1,350 crore on Guravelli project so far. Works on the projects were however stopped and the government was likely to face cost escalation on account of delays in grant of clearances by the Centre.

Mr. Revanth Reddy, accompanied by Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, called on Union Forests and Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav in New Delhi on Wednesday. He requested the Union Government to take steps for expeditious grant of clearances in view of the positive judgment given by the Apex Court.
