
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan flagging off new vehicles inducted into the State police force in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan flagged off 146 vehicles that were inducted into the Kerala Police at a ceremony at the Special Armed Police (SAP) Parade Ground on Monday.
The new fleet comprises sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and motorcycles that are expected to strengthen police patrolling and Highway Police patrolling even in difficult and hilly terrains, and enhance operational mobility.
The vehicles will be deployed across various police stations, control rooms and highway patrol units throughout the State, according to an official release.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister also presented the Best Police Station award for 2024 to Muhamma police station in Alappuzha. The Kodungalloor police station in Thrissur and Bekal police station in Kasaragod won the second and third prizes respectively.
State Police Chief Ravada A. Chandrasekhar; Additional Directors General of Police (ADGPs) S. Sreejith, P. Vijayan, H. Venkatesh and Dinesh Kashyap; and other senior police officials were present on the occasion.
