The Kochi Corporation has asked Adani Indian Oil City Gas to complete road restoration works within a fortnight after giving a chart of the roads excavated for the project complete with a plan for their restoration to the civic authorities.

The instructions were issued at a review meeting on the implementation of the City Gas project on Thursday. Mayor M. Anilkumar chaired the meeting.

The public works standing committee chairperson of the Kochi Corporation has been entrusted with the task of holding meetings to take stock of road restoration works and gas connections to households every five days.

The company said that messages received by consumers through SMS and WhatsApp on outstanding bills were part of a nation-wide scam about which a complaint had been lodged with the District Police Chief (Kochi City). Payment can be made only through the payment link of Indian Oil Adani Gas Private Limited. Doubts, if any, could be verified with division councillors, the company informed the meeting.
