Governor of Andhra Pradesh S. Abdul Nazeer is all praise for The Hindu, lauding the 147-year-old English newspaper for its commitment to the social causes and integrity of the country.

On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Mr. Abdul Nazeer and his wife Sameera Nazeer hosted ‘At Home’ on the Lok Bhavan lawns, welcomed the dignitaries, and greeted them on Saturday.

The Governor, while greeting the media representatives, spoke to The Hindu and said, “I’m a staunch follower of The Hindu newspaper. I’ve been following it for a very long time. Its contribution for the country is tremendous.”

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Chief Justice of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh Lisa Gill graced the occasion along with their spouses.

Ministers Kollu Ravindra and Nadendla Manohar, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, High Court Judges, Chief Information Commissioner and Commissioners of the A.P. Information Commission, Director General of Police, All India Service officers, leaders of political parties, Vijayawada Commissioner of Police, and other dignitaries, including defence service personnel, sportspersons, meritorious students, Padma awardees, members of the media, freedom fighters, and special Invitees such as health workers and NGOs attended.
