Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurates various projects, lays foundation for multiple museums across Tamil Nadu

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Friday (February 13, 2025) virtually inaugurated an open-air museum in Keeladi in Sivaganga district, established at a cost of ₹24 crore. Spread over 4.5 acres, the museum has artefacts spread over 65,000 sq.ft., and will be of interest to Tamil scholars and enthusiasts, archaeologists, and students.

The Chief Minister also virtually inaugurated new infrastructure and facade lighting at the Manora Memorial Pillar at Sarabendrarajapattinam in Thanjavur district.

He also laid the foundation for the construction of the Noyyal museum in Erode district and the Navai museum in Mandapam in Ramanthapuram district. He released the book Rock Art of Tamil Nadu, authored by K. Rajan and R. Sivanandam.

Grand Chola museum

He also laid the foundation for the construction of the Grand Chola Museum, spread over 50 acres within the Tamil University campus in Thanjavur, at a cost of ₹56 crore.

Mr. Stalin also virtually inaugurated new buildings for the Commercial Taxes and Registration Department in various locations across the State.

The Chief Minister virtually unveiled the bust of former Chief Minister of the then Madras Presidency P. Subbarayan, along with a memorial hall, constructed in Namakkal district at a cost of ₹2.66 crore. He also inaugurated a memorial hall in honour of late Keelapazhuvur Chinnasamy, who sacrificed his life fighting the imposition of Hindi, in Ariyalur district at a cost of ₹3 crore.

He also unveiled a bronze equestrian statue of late freedom fighter Theeran Chinnamalai installed in Erode district at a cost of ₹1 crore and also unveiled a statue of former MP C. Muthusamy in Karur district installed at a cost of ₹50 lakh.

Mr. Stalin virtually inaugurated new buildings constructed for various wings of the Police Department at a total cost of ₹122 crore and also laid the foundation for the construction of a new building to house the Tambaram Police Commissionerate at a total cost of ₹55 crore. He also flagged off new vehicles procured for various wings of the Police Department. He launched the distribution of enhanced incentive of ₹1,500 to the priests of 19,000 temples, where oru kaala poojas are held. Besides, he launched the distribution of pooja materials to temples where oru kaala poojas are held.

The Chief Minister virtually inaugurated ELCOSEZ, set up by the Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited in Sholinganallur in Chennai, spread over 6.33 acres and constructed at a cost of ₹84.42 crore. The 10-storeyed building has a built-up area of 2.33 lakh sq.ft. The Chief Minister also distributed religious minority status certificates to religious minority educational institutions.
