Chief Justice of India Surya Kant laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Academy building at Pichukalapalem in Amaravati on Sunday.

Costing ₹165 crore, the judicial academy building will have G+3 academic block, a hostel block with G+8 floors, and indoor sports and guest facilities. It will accommodate a batch of 120 trainee judges and have a total built-up area of 2.05 lakh square feet. The administrative and academic block will have a 500-seat auditorium, 70-seat moot court hall, a 60-seat forensic lab, and a 50-seat computer lab, among other modern amenities.

Also, Justice Surya Kant laid the stone for the High Court guest house coming up on a nearly 34-acre land spread across Nelapadu and Kondamarajupalem villages, with a built-up area of 50,000 square feet.
