R. Vaishali, who defended her title in the Grand Swiss Chess League, has now become an official of the State PSU. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin handed over the appointment to her at the Secretariat on Monday.

Ms. Vaishali has been given an appointment to work in the Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation Limited under the 3% quota earmarked for sportspersons, an official release said.

Football player K. Sumithra has been appointed in the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited and basketball player S. Sathya in the Tamil Nadu Cements Corporation Limited. Sailor Chitresh Tatha has been given an appointment in SIPCOT.

Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Minister T.R.B. Rajaa, Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and senior officials were also present.
