Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala spent New Year’s Day at Moonnayini in Akalad, Chavakkad, as part of his Gandhigramam project, which is now in its 16th year.

He announced support for setting up a community centre using ₹25 lakh from the MPLADS fund of Jebi Mather. It was also decided to construct a home for Mini Dushyanthan, who is homeless.

Additionally, a wheelchair will be provided to villager Adithya, along with support for his continued medical treatment. Sandhya, a heart patient, will receive assistance for her bypass surgery. Mr. Chennithala also offered support for the repair of poorly maintained houses besides buying cycles for 10 students and laptops for three others.
