Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has said Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had been “hushing up the sexual harassment complaints since he was the [CPI(M] party secretary.”

Replying to the allegations of the Chief Minister on Thursday, Mr. Chennithala said in Thiruvananthapuram that Mr. Vijayan “should first stop the womanisers in the CPI(M).”

After sitting on a complaint filed by a woman against a former Left-supported Independent legislator and a filmmaker for about two weeks, the Chief Minister has been making tall claims, he said.

The Chief Minister’s situation is “pathetic, and all this is an attempt to cover up” the gold theft in the Sabarimala case, he said.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister criticised the Congress, saying “if they continue to justify sexual perverts, people will reject them.”
