Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has directed authorities to ensure that the bodies of a family of three natives of Bihar, who were murdered in Chennai recently, will be taken to their native State, without any cost.

On reports that assistance was required to move the bodies of the three deceased to their native State of Bihar, he instructed authorities to facilitate through the Health and Family Welfare Department without any cost, government sources said.

The couple from Bihar – Gaurav Kumar who came to Chennai seeking employment, his 20-year-old wife Munitha Kumari and their two-year-old son Birmani Kumar, were murdered by men from their native State a few days ago. The accused men who were involved in the crime have been arrested.

According to police investigations, Gaurav was staying at the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) campus in Taramani, Chennai after being promised a job by one of the arrested men who worked as a day watchman at the institute. On the night of January 24, an altercation reportedly broke out while the men were consuming alcohol, following which, Gaurav, his wife, and the child were allegedly assaulted and killed by the accused men who are all natives of Bihar. The bodies were tied in gunny bags and dumped at different locations across the capital city.
