Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) has recently signed an MoU with ThinkMath Foundation (TMF), a non-profit initiative to spread mathematics education through unconventional modes among students, educators, parents and the general public.

Madhavan Mukund, Director; K.V. Subrahmanyam, Dean of Studies; and faculty members of CMI, Vidya Shankar Chakravarthy and members of TMF participated in the event held on Tuesday. According to a release, the main objective of the MoU is to improve the mathematics competency of school students by increasing the effectiveness of how it is taught in schools.

TMF will also contribute to the mathematics resource centre that is being set up at CMI’s new campus in Siruseri, where students can experience different facets of mathematics in a tangible manner, the release added.
