The Union Ministry of Rural Development has released ₹665 crore to Andhra Pradesh towards the first instalment of the material component under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme for FY 2025–26.

The State government’s contribution of ₹166 crore took the total funding to ₹831 crore, according to an official statement.

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development K. Pawan Kalyan expressed his gratitude to the Central Government for the fund sanction and release.

The fund release helps the State in clearing pending bills as of March 31, 2025.

Mr. Kalyan stated that the government was thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its support in strengthening the Panchayat Raj institutions by implementing various rural development schemes and through employment generation work in the villages.

He also acknowledged the cooperation being extended by Union Minister for Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Union Minister for Panchayat Raj Lallan Singh.
