Demand notices have been issued to 49 commercial properties on Indiranagar 100-Feet Road after a re-assessment and revision survey of property tax uncovered discrepancies amounting to over ₹7.2 crore.

The survey, conducted on November 14, involved more than 120 staff members, including nine Revenue Officers from all revenue divisions of the Central Corporation. Commissioner Rajendra Cholan inspected several buildings and reviewed property tax details during the assessment.

Out of 197 properties surveyed, 147 were found to have correct tax payments, while 49 buildings were identified with discrepancies. The total differential tax for these 49 properties has been calculated at ₹7.21 crore. Under regulations, property owners receiving a cause notice are required to provide a written explanation within 15 days. Failure to respond or file objections will result in the issuance of a demand notice, followed by recovery of the dues.

Mr. Cholan said that similar re-assessment surveys would be conducted in a phased manner across Bengaluru, with strict action planned against those providing incorrect information in self-declaration forms.
