MA&UD Minister P. Narayana discussing with officials the arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations, in Amaravati on Friday.

Amaravati is all set to host the Republic Day celebrations as the Capital of Andhra Pradesh for the first time, marking a significant moment for the new capital city.

Elaborate arrangements are under way for the event, which will be organised near the Seed Access Road, opposite the Ministers’ bungalows, where a large parade ground has been developed.

Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development P. Narayana on Friday inspected the preparations for the Republic Day celebrations.

Officials informed him that a 22-acre parade ground was readied for the event. In addition, 15 acres was allocated for VVIP and VIP parking, while another 25 acres earmarked for public parking to ensure smooth movement of vehicles.

Special arrangements were being made for the Amaravati farmers. A dedicated VIP gallery was being set up exclusively for them. Authorities were also sending invitation cards to the farmers, inviting them to participate in the celebrations.

APCRDA officials said seating arrangements were being made for nearly 13,000 people, including dignitaries and members of the public. Mr. Narayana directed the officials to ensure that both VVIPs and the general public faced no inconvenience during the event, and asked them to complete all works well in advance.
