Canara Bank on Monday announced that it migrated its corporate website to secure ‘.bank.in’ domain, to comply with the Reserved Bank of India’s directives. With this, the domain has been enabled with advanced security features, including IPv6 and DNSSEC, the bank said.

IPv6 provides the expanded IP address space and improved capabilities needed for the continued growth of the Internet, while DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) adds cryptographic authentication to DNS (domain name system) queries, preventing cyber attacks by ensuring integrity and authenticity of domain name.

The Bengaluru-based lender said it would strengthen its commitment to safeguarding customer digital banking and strengthen its cybersecurity framework and gain public confidence in digital banking. The move would also assist customers in easily recognising genuine banking websites, said Canara Bank.
