The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has begun a campaign to ensure vehicles are not parked along Ennore Manali Road Improvement Project (EMRIP) roads and the Chennai – Tada National Highway.

Such vehicles are usually parked along the shoulders and margins of these roads, taking up space meant for moving vehicles, said a press release. A total of 350 trucks, vans, and other vehicles that were encroaching the road were asked to move by patrol vehicles over a period of 45 days.

NHAI has also referred details of the vehicles to the concerned Regional Transport Authorities and police authorities for appropriate enforcement action, including e-challans wherever applicable.
