Professionalism, structured thinking, and accountability are essential to effectively address the complex challenges faced by the society today, said R. Pavithra Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of JSW Foundation, Mumbai.

Delivering a talk on “Corporate Leadership- Lessons I Learnt,” organised by the Department of Business Administration, PB Siddhartha College of Arts and Science, Vijayawada on Friday (26 December, 2025), Mr. Kumar said that the social sector can no longer function on goodwill alone and must adopt best practices of the corporate world to deliver sustainable and scalable impact.

Referring to the takeover of VSNL by the Tata Group, Mr. Kumar highlighted how strategic focus, disciplined execution, and a strong value system create long-term opportunities. He further elaborated on how Tata Trusts had transformed their philosophy by treating every initiative as a business case, ensuring measurable outcomes, institutional strength, and financial sustainability.

Mr. Kumar emphasised that institutions must consciously inculcate risk-taking, innovation, and scalable capabilities among their employees to remain strategically relevant and socially impactful.

A former student of the college, Mr. Pavithra Kumar pursued an MBA course at PB Siddhartha College of Arts and Science during 1994-96 academic year. The programme was facilitated by Dean Rajesh C. Jampala and Principal Meka Ramesh, along with faculty members.
